Fireside Chat #2: Matthew Stafford Interview
>> 2.05.2010
And now, what you’ve all been waiting for . . .
Crucial thanks to everyone at the AXE Hair team, who made this possible. Second, I’d like to thank noted sportswriter and blogger Greg Eno, who gave me some awesome pointers on doing audio interviews. Without his help, this decently-listenable interview would have been a laughably amateurish affair. If you need any help getting your speaking or writing chops up, hit Greg up at www.gregeno.com.
Of course, get signed up for the AXE Hair Action challenge at the AXE Hair facebook page—and see if you can top Matthew’s Hair Action! Finally, a tip of the hat to Matthew himself, who is a consummate pro, incredibly sharp, and a lot more polished at this than any 22-year-old ought to be . . .
. . . more thoughts later.

Awesome interview, Ty. You did great. Much better than some of the other interviews where they kept asking him the same questions over and over again.
Couldn't agree more with that final thought you expressed about Stafford. I was much more expectant of a chance to win if he was playing. In a short time, maybe it was because of the mic'd up video, he established himself with me as a Lions' fan. Great job!
Legendary.
When you asked the food question and Stafford answered that he's a beer and brat guy, I was screaming in my head "What Beer? what Beer?" maybe you can ask that in your next interview...

PS - I see a mention of Bell's Two-Hearted Ale in your "Little Blue Sparks." Good stuff.

Thanks! I really didn't want to waste the opportunity, and tried to represent the fan well. Glad you enjoyed it!
By the way, folks, check out sevenfan's blog:

She does a great job of sussing out all things Matthew.

Yeah, it was bizarre . . . I went from dreading being saddled with a rookie quarterback to feeling like if the rook wasn't in, the game wasn't worth watching.
The mic'd up video is an all-time classic; I think they'll be showing that for years.
Peace
Ty
ALiVQT--
I bow deeply in gratitude.
Reading your comment, I was like "NOOOOOooooooooo how did I not THINK of that!?!?" I am crestfallen to have whiffed on that one . . . but you're right--next time!
Peace
Ty
PS--I'm working on re-doing the 'widgets' that power the sidebar, including that one. With luck, you'll get your Brothers in Blue Fire back.
