Cool analysis, but I think just looking at sacks is too narrow of a correlation. You should be looking at things like hurries etc. as well. Ideally you'd want to look at the amout of time the QB had to throw vs the completion rate I would think. Also strong defense on the first 2 downs is going to affect the 3rd down percentage drastically. If the D-line stuffs the first two run plays then you pretty much know the 3rd down is going to be passing play and that shifts the advantage to the defense as happened so many times against the lions last year.
All in all I still think we're screwed. We play too many good QBs who know how to dump the ball off quickly in rush situations. However, I predict we'll have a sack hayday against Chicago and Martz' 7 step drop back.
