Some of you may have noticed that this blog is not overly concerned with appearance. This is partially a conscious decision on my part—after all, it should be spare and bleak, in accordance with the metaphor that serves as the theme. However, it’s also partially laziness, and also partially incompetence. It’s true, I once drew a paycheck for my l33t w3b ski11z--but that was when men were men, and CSS was a browser-busting boondoggle.
I’ve enlisted the help of my homeboy Jim—one who, you know, has written a web page in the last decade—to help spruce up the site a little bit. As an unintended consequence, you might see things get a little freaky up in here over the next day or two, but don’t fret. Please, take solace in this animated .gif:

Don't get too crazy with the decorations. I like the look. One of the most popular sites on the web has a similar format (google). Besides, I can read this at work and it doesn't really look like non-work stuff (hehe).
Thanks, man. I favor the understatement as well, but it's a thin line separating "clean" and "boring", and "understated" and "unprofessional". The analytics suggest that 85% of people walk in the door here, see the site, and walk back out--not good. I do hope to execute this so that it will still be clean, spare, and understated . . . but it will also look GOOD.
