Everyone is decrying the possibility that Brett Favre will return--and then play for the filthy Vikings--but I offer a list of reasons to embrace it:
1) The Vikings have a legitimately elite defense, and arguably the best running back in the game. Favre would have an excellent chance to contend for and win a second Super Bowl, cementing his rightful legacy as one of the very best to ever play the game.
2) If the Vikings win it all this year, and Brett hops onto his tractor and rides off into the sunset, the Vikes will happily sign up for four more years of Rosenfels, Jackson, and Chillyball.
3) The NFC North will boast four of the strongest arms in football. All the teams may or may not suck, but they'll all be entertaining.
4) If Favre falters, it will completely torpedo what would surely otherwise be a deep playoff run for the Vikes--and it might get get Childress fired. Schadenfreude!
5) It will really, really, really irritate Packers fans.

I would love to see Favre in Viking purple. Dude is washed up and will set that franchise back another few years. Just look at how he broke down at the end of last season, and rumor is he's still not healthy.
Of course, no matter what, he'll still kill the Lions twice this year.
Also, #4 (getting Childress fired) is actually a bad thing for Lions fans. We want Childress there as long as possible.
#6. The vikings, who as you mentioned really do have a complete team, will be picked apart via free-agency because of their superbowl appearance.
This and #2 are what appeal to me most.
Those guys have the RB, WR, OL and DL to win it all, they just need a competent QB. Insert Favre, achieve immediate success, get picked apart like all superbowl teams and the division is ours. :)
Jimmerz--
Well that's just the thing; the longer Childress is there, the better it is for us--but having Favre singlehandedly undo what would surely be a successful season, and watching the Vikings implode . . . that WOULD be well worth watching, even if they hired someone good as a result.

TimT--
Indeed! Leslie Frazier would certainly be an extremely hot commodity, too . . . I would love to see Favre take this team to the mountaintop, and then leave it there to die. Heh, heh, heh.
What? Everyone, stop looking at me like that! I might swear by reason, compassion, and True Fandom, but I stinking hate the filthy Vikings. Is hating your rival not part and parcel of loving your team?
Peace
Ty
